About the Project

Ethereal is DeFi’s next major trading protocol and the first built on Ethena. We're already at $900M+ TVL during prelaunch and on track to become a top 10 ecosystem.

This is a rare opportunity to join a world class DeFi team, at the start of something big.

Building within the ethena.fi ecosystem unlocks billions in USDe that can be used as collateralised margin, enabling minimal slippage for traders. The infrastructure we’re building will handle over 1 million orders per second delivering CEX level performance, with on-chain security.

You’ll be part of an engineering-first team solving non-trivial challenges across performance, UX, and blockchain integration - working closely with protocol and backend engineers to shape how users interact with one of the fastest platforms in DeFi.

About the Role

We’re hiring a Frontend Engineer to build intuitive, high-performance dApps that interact directly with the next-gen DeFi trading infrastructure.

You’ll own major parts of the UI—connecting React apps to blockchain data, optimising for UX and latency, and shipping features that traders depend on.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Building performant, production-grade dApps in React using TypeScript
• Writing clean, maintainable components with modern best practices (HTML, CSS Modules or Tailwind)
• Integrating with Web3 libraries like viem, ethers.js, or custom RPC
• Managing state across complex UIs, real-time data streams (websockets), and blockchain queries
• Collaborating with backend and smart contract engineers on design, performance, and execution
• Prioritising speed, simplicity, and trust in every interaction

About You

Essential Skills:

• Deep experience with React, modern front-end frameworks, and UI performance tuning
• Strong frontend fundamentals (HTML, CSS, TypeScript)
• Comfort working with Web3 libraries and integrating smart contract data
• Pragmatic approach to frontend architecture. knows when to abstract and when to ship
• Experience building or contributing to production dApps in DeFi & web3

Highly desirable:

• Real-time data streams using websockets
• Web3 libraries and integrating smart contract data
• Experience with viem.js, ethers.js, wallet integrations, or gas estimations
• Knowledege of perpetuals & trading systems
